continuing, plain looking upperparts and face, eyering noticeable, back light brown with noticeable offwhite wing bar contrasting with rest of back, smaller than Horned Larks which would poke at it as they went by, smallish conical bill, under parts whitish along sides, whitish chin/throat upper chest, lower chest & belly were whitish edged - black under the tips of feathers would show really blackish at one moment and whitish with blotchy black another, sometimes looked just whitish, in flight looked short tailed in comparison to larks, never saw the upper or lower tail well at all
