Male, with strawberry red crown, lighter pink on rest of face through throat. Pale eye arcs. Longer, more conical-shaped bill than Purple Finch. Seen briefly in small pine with another male Purple/Cassin's Finch here: 33°20'52.3"N 116°54'41.1"W This location seemed to be a hit with a lot of birds, who were coming to the stream and likely eating berries nearby. Poor photo(s).
