Successful twitch of this continuing MA vagrant found by Jon Skinner on 4 December; I think there are seven prior records for the state. It was observed feeding on the snow plowed weedy patches and fringes of the taxiways at the airport along with Horned Larks and Snow Buntings. Many digiscoped photos through the chain link fence. I've now seen all four Calcarius species in Massachusetts! Here are the seven prior records: 1 - Magnolia - 28 July 1876 (collected) 1 - Chatham - 3-6 January 1975 1 - Nantucket - 12-16 October 1979 (netted & banded) 1 - Duxbury - 23-25 October 1991 1 - Salisbury - 1-9 January 1994 1 - Plum Island - 15 December 2004 1 - Eastham - 31 October - 4 November 2020
