Yet another banger found by S. Tucker. Found shortly after we arrived, just off the beach in the surf with the many SUSC. We moved from the jetty to the beach and got insane looks at the bird as it foraged close in. It eventually moved far out past the breakers and was still visible, just at a considerable distance. Stunning, smiling, female sea duck with warm brown tones, scalloped body pattern (versus barred) and a rounded head with all dark bill. Wowza!
