Generic "Iceland Gull" seems more appropriate for this darker, intermediate first cycle individual. Frosty gray-brown aspect overall, tertials with solid dark bases (though not noticeably darker brown than the rest of the upperparts) and patterning towards the distal ends, secondaries mostly dark on open wing, primaries brown (though not terribly dark brown) with pale tips to folded wing, outer primaries showing paler inner webs, tail mostly dark with some barred patterning towards terminal end. A fairly hefty bill for an ICGU, with the bill being mostly dark with a fading base, legs noticeably pinkish. Definitely a more intermediate individual, likely an acceptable Thayer's in the West but unsure if this represents the dark end of the phenotypic spectrum for Kumlien's, which I initially suspected and which is more expected here; photos.
