*Low density, but also under detected - much less common here than at Chisholm or White Island. Barrel shaped owl with buffy patches in hands, fine streaks on chest, heavy on the eye liner, “short ears” seen when sitting. First seen flying, harrier-like, over the Eastern-most pool in the marsh. Buzzed over the flats and eventually landed on the beach! Sadly flushed from that amazing vantage by some runners. Seen in flight two times after that, including by a few other birders.
