Merlin was identifiying this sound clip as exclusively Boat-Tailed Grackle while I was looking at the flock that contained the Dark-Eyed Bird above. I think this is a misidentification of sound. There were lots of other grackles around and none appeared to be mature male Boat-Tailed candidates. I am tentatively assuming these two birds on the wire are also immature Great-Tailed Grackles and they seem small .
