Continuing bird. Seen again about 30–40 yards west of the yellow gate in the same general area as previous reports. Showed classic Sagebrush Sparrow (Artemisiospiza nevadensis) behavior — low, quick ground-running with a slightly cocked tail, sticking to sparse shrubs and open patches. Plumage and structure fit Sagebrush cleanly: • Narrow, non-bold malar stripe, lacking the thick, high-contrast look typical of Bell’s (A. belli canescens) • Cooler gray tones across head and nape • Light, diffuse dorsal streaking • Subtle facial pattern with a thin eyering and muted auriculars • Slightly slimmer build, longer tail impression, and that upright alert posture Sagebrush often shows Bird remained silent; no vocalizations heard. Strong, extended visuals — confidently identified as Sagebrush Sparrow.
