We originally thought there were 5 cockaded woodpeckers until I got home and reviewed photos. I then realized that one of them was a red-headed woodpecker. This was on the patsy pond yellow loop even before you get to the blue loop. I can upload photos as well as the area where we were because I thought it was unusual to see that many. One of the people with me worked in wildlife and lives in Swansboro and confirmed species and count as well.
