By far the highlight bird-wise was my first Common Tern in years, with its smudgy black cap, sharp little dagger of a bill, and that instantly recognisable blackish shoulder bar!! I think there was only one, but given a passing boat put all the Terns up into a seething cloud I thought at the time that it could very well be that one or two more were hidden in there...
