In the euc snags upslope from the basin, north of the parking lot. Flycatching for bees mostly. A few squeaky chew-ee calls heard when I first arrived. Missing its tail. Chunky kingbird (especially with missing tail), very thick and wide at the base hooked black bill, dark head with darker mask around eyes, white throat that extends to cheek, bright yellow underparts including under tail coverts, upperparts gray-olive, yellow crown seen briefly when a CAKI flew in nearby. Photos. May stick around for a while, lots of bees and waiting for tail to grow in.
