観察結果の詳細

A group of nine birds, swimming in close formation about 1/4 mile off the shore of Long Island Sound. During the time that I was able to see them, they continued swimming east together for a distance of perhaps a mile. They were never close enough to allow a well-focused photo. My unsatisfactory photos shows them in profile, but coloration is uncertain. Almost surely they were scoters. Merlin, with difficulty, suggests white-winged.
