Found by LC, MS, and JP in dense row of veg along E side of Catalina in NE corner, approximately here: (32.6934786, -117.2453055). Initially heard giving loud, flat, chipmunk-like “smack” calls. Popped out briefly after spishing before moving out of sight to N. Large, round-bodied, relatively short-tailed warbler with rusty orange crown, plain olive-brown upperparts, bold eye ring, and whitish underparts with dark streaking across breast and sides.
