Outstanding find by Danny Bales ! Juvenile. Rare long winged Calidris that’s structurally attenuated and very similar to WRSA but with warm buffy overtones, relatively straight black bill, scaly feathered mantle, and scapulars and primary tips extending beyond the posterior edge of the tail which often overlap creating a crisscross effect. An absolutely stunning shorebird at extremely close range with crippling observations.
