We staked out a bromeliad that someone appears to have put by the banheiro/casa years ago. In the morning it had no flowers open, but when we returned in the afternoon it had 5 flowers open. We were calling in a Variable Antshrike, standing 2-3m from the bromeliad, when the Sabrewing flew in (between us?) and foraged. We heard one approach about 10 min later but it did not come into view. After another 10 min or so the bird photographed appeared.
