Continuing grayish olive empid found by Matthew Danielson on 6/15. We could hear it singing shortly after starting along the path, and soon after found it atop a snag rising from a Russian Olive. Some quick “pwet” calls heard at one point. During our visit the bird moved along the path from one tree clump to the next, beginning somewhat near the parking area (48.10119° N, 119.70957° W) and ending near the bridge; then it would do the same in reverse before making its way back toward the bridge again. It seemed to have a favored perch in each of these stops, and would sing its emphatic “zhwee-veeit” song from them for about the same amount of time before heading to the next. It completed three to four of these cycles while we were there. We didn’t observe it flycatching. We’ll add audio/video.
