Immature. Previously known to be moving between riverfront locations along the Niagara River. After the bird had disappeared around 5:30pm, George and I spotted it at 7:00pm, resting on the US side of the river on a small rocky island, southeast of Pirates Island (~1.7km away). We were soon joined by Jude Szabo, Matthew Cowley, and Brad Reinhardt and viewed the bird together through our scopes. Around 8:30pm, it finally took flight but remained in US airspace. We then observed it perch in a tree with DCCO on Pirates Island. This is presumably where it went to roost.
