Standing next to the guard rail where Birch Steam crosses County Rd. Was able to fly, at least a short distance, without trouble. I looked around a little for carrion but didn't see anything. A very surprising sighting, especially in this habitat. It may still be in the same area, having flown back into the woods only 20 yards or so, after which I lost sight of it.
