Two birds perched in the dead tree along Lincolnway, just west of Logan Street. In May. Kind of unusual for this location. The lower bird, a sub-adult still with a trace of a dark tail band, had been perched a little upstream along the south side of the river high up in the tallest cottonwood, near the WWTP. It left there and came to join the higher bird @ 1823 hrs. Had seen what is most likely these two birds a little further downstream on and east of Ironwood on 04.22.25. One of those birds was an adult and another was a sub-adult still with some dark in the tail, like the lower bird of the current pair. Those birds had been in that area awhile as I local resident said they had been and also that one of the birds had been carrying sticks as it building a nest. Another local resident said that they had a BAEA fly over there house last night on the north side of the river. Likely one of these birds. Have heard from other residents about two BAEA nests in the area this year north of the river and east of this location. One which raised young. So possibly these birds were one of the nesting pairs. Also yesterday had a flyover adult BAEA while in the woods at Baugo County Park. A bit upstream from this location. ebird BAEA May reports Increasing incidence.
