Seven small sandpipers (peeps) observed in a group. Six of the peeps were identified as Least Sandpipers. The seventh peep was different and was identified as a Semipalmated Sandpiper through the following: Dark legs eliminated Least Sandpiper, which has yellow legs. Shorter straight bill eliminated both Least and Western Sandpiper. Lack of strong rufous coloring eliminated both Least and Western Sandpipers. Plainer breast and flanks eliminated both Least and Western Sandpipers. Photos included.
