In shrub at SW corner of BMX bike track. Despite the overcast conditions, the birds--with their face and breast infused with a yellow-orange color--stood out. The colors--not the deep raspberry red normally seen--are possibly the result of a carotenoid-deficient diet. I don't recall seeing this among Purple Finches before. The photos don't really accurately portray the amount of yellow-orange in the suprercilium and breast.
