Merlin alerted me to the possibility of a winter wren. It sounded different from the nearby marsh wren. At first, I only got a brief look. I played a call recording, and it came out for a good look. Small wren. It was a nice, uniform, chocolatety brown with some white speckles. Very short tail held erect. Recording to be uploaded. It was in the marsh just before the boardwalk of the nature trail.ra n
