2nd county record silently perched up in grasses near here, feeding: (41.6199054, -86.2780474). Orange-faced sparrow with blue-gray cheek patch, nape, and crown stripes. After seeing my lifer Nelson’s Sparrow at Rainbow Beach a few weeks ago, we figured there would likely be some making their way south through this area, too. The best habitat in the area seemed to be here, and within 10 minutes, I’d already found one. Surely underreported in this area during migration, same for LeConte’s which I didn’t have any luck with this time
