Tracked in flight for about 5 mins off of the jerhico kayak centre as it flew about 100-200 m off shore, frequently diving and being harassed by gulls. Landed on water once. Eventually, i tracked it as it landed on the beach and i was able to run up and snap some digibin pics. When I moved past a bush to get a closer look, it had took off and i was not able to relocate it after that. While in flight, I was not able to get an impression on differentiating between Sterna sp’s, but good looks while perched lead me towards arctic over common. While perched, showed squatted posture on short legs, shortish black bill, rounded head, and minimal black on carpalbar.
