Stunning find by Ian Gledhill this morning, thanks to Samantha Bacon for first spotting the bird after my arrival. Seen in large cottonwoods between parking lot and barn @ (40.7841540, -124.0895452). Despite foraging very high up against a bright overcast sky, this vibrant bird readily stood out. Bright yellow throat bordered by black cheeks, turning into dark streaks along flanks. Gray upperparts with white wing bars, white supercilium, white underparts.
