NOTES: Reel 1; Cut 1; p.m.; Location: about 8 mi W of Hwy 17; altitude about 2500'- 3000'; Songs: part of one 11/1/(1:35) 11/(2:15) annc't; This is the song heard at higher altitudes, resembling that of eastern Black-throated Green warbler, but unlike songs sung by Townsend's warblers at sea level. This bird very high up in Douglas fir. [A single song-type is represented here, but it is unlike that of other recordings of this species and does not appear similar to any of the spectrograms published by D. J. Borror and W. W. H. Gunn (1985. Songs of the Warblers of North America. Cornell Lab. of Ornithology)). It was said to be an unusual variant recorded at high elevation.
