First flushed a male (dark navy/gray back), then saw three brown-backed individuals simultaneously, all with lighter buffy backs. Light was low but assuming it was a female and two juveniles. Admittedly high ISO photos of one light backed bird appears to be a juvenile due to some white feather tufts on the cap. Another photo shows a scalloped look to the back feathers. The male flushed from lower vegetation behind the beaver lodge, the three others were in the tall, dense reed island straight out from the dam.
