Located a short distance east of Wildhorse Creek on high, dry, tussock/cotton grass habitat. Males were singing constantly. Females likely nesting - kept a very low profile. This was our first look at this species after searching high and low in Alaska. Male birds were not quite as bright as the Sibley guide suggested - the chest color was more yellow than orange. Pictures to follow!!
