Two males recognizable by plumage differences. One seen near the willow patch is the subadult (?) that has been present since 6/4. It has some white on the belly feathers and a few spots of brown on the head and neck. Today it was down the side trail just up-valley from with willow patch, near a small oak tree about 2/3 of the way to the bottom of the path. Walking out, I met another birder, who must have been Michele Suzann, and she told me she had seen another male on the other side of the oak grove. I found that bird easily between the Talus trail and a smaller trail paralleling it out in the grassland. This male seems to be a full adult with no white on the belly and a completely blue head with no hint of brown feathers. It was singing from thistles in the area between the two trails and permitted close approach (albeit mostly with strong backlight). Photos show both birds; note white belly plumage on the subadult.
