Seen at 09:30 at 29.2404530, -103.2973362. I was trying to get a non-birder hiker on a Colima Warbler after he became interested during our conversation and was scanning the trees when a Redstart with a orangey-red breast caught my eye through a bunch of thick branches, a noticably lighter shade than the bright red of Painted Redstart. I got on it with binoculars and didn't see an under-eye arc, and immediately got my camera on it. It took several shots to get a clear view, but got pics showing solid black above with no eye arc, no white wing patches, and white tail corners as opposed to full white outer rectrices of Painted Redstart. In view for less than 2 minutes before disappearing. Seen a second time as a 2-second fly-over at approximately 11:40am as I was leaving, seen from underside only, orangey-red belly and white tail corners were only visible fieldmarks.
