Glenn McKinlay got first sighting yesterday 4/29/24 at the sewage pond at the old landfill in Koror so I took a chance and went not expecting to see it at high noon, but sure enough it was feeding in the pond and i had startled it and it flew to the upper edge of the pond for a bit before flying up into a tree above. It had a dark gray black body with dark crown and yellow beak and legs with a white chest to the neck, looked bigger than a bittern but smaller than the rufous night heron that was nearby.
