First found by another group of birders earlier in the am who mentioned it to me (thank you to Gary Nunn for the tip). Initially identified as an Alder Flycatcher, though I am now leaning towards Wood-Pewee. Seen at the gas plant buildings at the end of Cake eater/Gas Well Rd. Appeared relatively compact, though not quite as much as I might expect for an empid. Structure more similar to a Contopus. at the time with what appeared to have pretty long wings. Pale lores and a bit of pale coloration at the rear of the eye. Did not have a concise eyering like I might epect for Alder. Flanks gray-green and belly yellowish green, giving it an almost vested appearance, which seems much more consistent with Wood-Pewee than Alder. Bill about 1/3 the length of the head with a flesh colored base to the lower mandible, did not appear to have an entirely orange lower mandible like I might expect for Alder/Willow. Whitish wing bars tinted yellowish. Crest apparent and raised for the duration of observation consistent with a Contopus. Silent, so theoretically cannot rule out Eastern Wood-Pewee. Seen flycatching relatively low on the lee side of several buildings.
