Stand of eucalyptus with thick understory near Restroom 7. First heard chatter call about 10 days ago. I returned twice in the last week but did not relocate the bird. Today it responded to chatter playback but I was unable to see the bird until I went on the uphill, sunny side where it appeared several times. Bright rosy-red overall. Slight crest. Photo.
