[edit: I made a gross species error yesterday. I arrived looking for a "first" of a species that I had never seen before in person. When I arrived and saw a species I had never seen before, I assumed it was the same species I had come looking for. Quite ironically, I was saying to myself, "Just yesterday I was wondering why the name of the Greater White-Fronted Goose was chosen, since it only has a bit of white on the face. My memory must be terrible, because this bird SHOULD be named that. It has white from head down the neck, the name made sense. Right then, even as a beginner, I should have realized I had a different new bird! The name should NOT have made sense to me. At least I included photos. You might at least understand, though. In a town park's smallish pond, I *never* expected that one "first" goose for me would be replaced by yet another. I have only seen Canada and Brant up to that point! So sorry, folks!] It flew off after about 45 min of observing, along with 30 of the other geese.
