Continuing. First heard the bird across the river at 8 AM. It then flew to the US side at 845. I’m the mesquite and tamarisk southwest of where the trail opens up to the river. Heard distinctive weep call reminiscent of Great Crested. THere was also an Ash-throated nearby. This bird was slightly smaller and cuter. Big headed with a slightly smaller bill (like Dusky-capped). Tail was narrow and also narrowed towards body. Short primary extension. Medium yellow underparts (more intense than the very pale yellow of Ash-throated). Gray-brown head and face, light gray chest. Rectrice pattern showed brown outer margin to tail feathers and rufous inner vane. No crossing of brown outer margin across end of tail. In r6, brown outer margin bleeds into inner vane towards tip of tail, but does not cross completely. Secondary edges pale yellow except for tertial edges, which were white. Primary edges are rufous.
