**very rare - continuing adult-like male found by Steve Baker yesterday evening. Striking tyrant flycatcher with bright red underparts and cap, accented by a dusky brown mask and grayish-brown upperparts. Tail seemed subtly darker than the upperparts and appeared edged in white in certain views. Recalling a phoebe in general structure and habits, and seemingly more specifically a SAPH (over EAPH) by its behavior and longer sallies out into broadly open areas. The outer rectrices as well as the greater pp coverts appeared slightly truncated, likely confirming an ASY male. I do wonder if the subtle difference in shade of greater vs median coverts might indicate a TY bird? Need to look into this more. Frequenting the split rail fencing along the edges of the parking lot, but occasionally venturing as far west as the end of the wooden fencing to the west fo the marsh outflow and bridge.
