First observed the bird resting/sleeping on a thick horizontal branch of a Black Cherry about 50 feet up at 5:18pm. At 5:47, he shuffled and stretched for a few minutes before settling back down. Alternated between open/closed eyes until 6:28 when he responded to the sound of a car starting nearby. Noticed insects flying around and grabbed a quick snack while still lying down. Closed eyes and settled in again. Raised head and opened eyes from about 6:50. At 7;09, became restless and looked around. Stretched wings and took flight at 7:12. Interesting note: official time of sunset in Asheville on 10/2, 7:12pm
