Extremely faint 'pip' calls. Some noise removal below 1kHz has been applied for clarity.

Heard "pip" calls very faintly early on when we arrived but thought we were going crazy as we had just had a calling Alder in our yard the day before - luckily had recorder on the whole time so got faint audio of the pipping. Later saw exactly 3 Empidonax flycatchers in same area together, but only got good looks and photos of 2 individuals. Both birds observed and photographed fit Alder Flycatcher perfectly - fairly grey on top with some olive/green wash on the back, had medium length primaries and wide, straight sided tails, small-ish bills, completely rounded crowns, thin but distinct and crisp eye rings, which altogether should rule out Least and Willow. All of them were flycatching in exact same spot we have had LEFL and YBFL, near the entrance where the thin tree line meets the edge of brushy field to the east. One of the birds responded strongly to Alder playback by jumping out in the open very excitably. Plenty of photos and some audio to be uploaded.
