**Very rare from shore locally; continuing light morph adult with a bad leg that has been kicking around the inlet since at least 7/15, and is one of a few pomarines seen along the south shore this year. Its health is obviously somewhat in question, given its uncharacteristic loafing on the beach, noticeable limp, and left wing droop (although I have seen photos of apparently healthy pomarines drooping a wing before). However, our first encounter with it was as it dropped out of the air onto the beach and snatched a common tern chick, which it devoured whole. Made a few more short flights afterwards, but mostly loafed on the beach getting harried by common and least terns. Observed for a while but we took care not to disturb it or cause it to needlessly expend precious energy flying around. Good luck to this intrepid and perhaps weary oceanic traveler. Many photos, and video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=T5u-WCTY5JU&feature=youtu.be
