観察結果の詳細
All 3 individuals seen using shrub perches in reach 4, in the first hour of the count. Later, on the return, 2 adults and an immature (presumably the same individuals) seen in flight. 1 adult made several descending "kee-arh" screams while flying in the direction of the other adult, and then extended its legs briefly, twice. It then extended its legs again, fanned its tail, and glided to within ca 1 m of the other adult, from above. I was surprised to see this behavior at this time of year, since I know that aspects of this resemble RTHA courtship. However, I found 2 possible explanations: (1) pairs will perform these displays throughout the year (perhaps to maintain pair bond); (2) the behaviors I observed could also be an agonistic interaction with another RTHA.
