*continuing long-staying 5th Alaska record; flew into the power lines on Marian St out of thin air at 9:16am. It eventually flew to the deck and fed for awhile before flying back to a tall Sitka Spruce clump north of Marian and was still sitting there when Brad and I left around 10:10am. It appears that the White-winged Dove is only coming into the Marian St feeders once or twice per day, and sometimes for not very long at all when it does come in. I suspect it is sporadically using another nearby feeder and probably roosting in spruces for long durations, like we saw today. It would be next to impossible to spot sitting in a tree. It also appears that some of its tarsi are swollen and whitish, which is evident in some photos (especially the power line photo).
