Took clear shot including the rump , calls consistent with Baikal (recording with Anas), responded to Baikal song and recording of its own call, but not to West Himalayan (another bird with dark contrasty face marking came out on the first play of West Himalayan). The bird did not respond to the song of West Himalayan bush warbler but repeatedly came out to the call of Baikal bish warbler, making rapid calls consistent with Baikal (west himalayab has much more spaced out notes). The throat was white without any spots and there was no spotting on the breast either. The supercilium was white and undertail coverts showing the white tips to the brown feathers givinb a stippled appearance. Final reasons for assigning species. Structurally the beak is consistent with West Himalayan and different from Baikal. Plumage (supercilium white) can occur in West Himalayan, is actually similar to other confirmed West Himalayan at Ayodhya and Aligarh. The response to the Baikal call can be interpreted as an aggressive response to a conspecifics call.
