Wintering first state record, continuing since late November. Distinctive doubled "jit-jit" calls heard, though from the orchard to the east of the canal, not in the Phragmities along the canal where most other detections have taken place. The bird was either a little ways away or calling more quietly than usual, but Olivier may have gotten a recording with Merlin.
