A rich brown stub-tailed wren closely associating with the Winter Wren. Throat and breast were noticeably warm brown, not pale tan as in WIWR. Heard giving Wilson's Warbler-like call note, but that vocalization was not recorded. Seen here: 35.259584, -106.5961726. It's possible that there are three individual wrens in this spot and it's worth a follow-up visit. I was admittedly confused at one point thinking there were definitely two PAWRs plus one WIWR, but I am uncertain of this. The WIWR was moderately responsive to playback of WIWR calls and the PAWR was aggressively responsive, hence these photos on an exposed branch. Unfortunately, the only certain recordings of this bird were of excited calls that may not be diagnostic to species.
