**mega; 3rd county record originally found yesterday by Amy O'Neill and Blair Nikula. Missing for about 40 minutes until seemingly appeared out of nowhere, when WSS noticed a dark-mantled gull fly in a land on the lower portion of the breakwater at 11:23am. WSS quickly snapped a few photos, which revealed the gull to be the SBAG. A nice, classic adult bird. Smaller than the neighboring GBBGs, with a mantle color somewhere in between LBBG and GBBG, broad, white tertial crescent and bubblegum pink legs. The bird changed positions along the breakwater multiple times, causing momentary confusion, before refinding it. However, after 15-20min (?) we couldn't refind the bird again. Many birds were tucked behind the break water, or other birds, so it was unclear whether the bird actually flew or was just out of view. Many photos.
