**MEGA** and unbelievably, at least the 3rd Pennsylvania record for this "Western" type flycatcher. Originally found by Russell Hoffman on 12/20/15 (http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S26405424) and verified with audio recordings of the species position call notes by Cameron Rutt & Tom Johnson the following day (http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S26424876). Today the bird was seen feeding along the weedy field edge near the monument. Typical flycatcher feeding behavior from low shrubs. Very active and quickly moving along edge of field. We followed the bird as it fed and moved along the field north to the area behind the building where we lost sight of it. Description: Overall warm green empidonax flycatcher with frequent tail flicking as it fed. Head with very slight crest appearance. Eye with obvious white almond or tear-drop shape eyering that seemed broader behind the eye. Two buffy-white wing bars. From my distance, roughly 30 yds, the bill appeared to be slightly orange on the lower mandible. The position call notes documented by Rutt & Johnson seem to rule out other empi species including the extremely similar and sometimes inseperable Cordilleran Flycatcher. The date of appearance also falls nicely into the time frame for "western" vagrants to be discovered in the east.
