Continuing around these coordinates: 33.47001° N, 117.68315° W. Hangs out with the Pin-tailed Whydahs and Whote-crowned Sparrows on the grass. When it was flushed by walkers, it seemed to enjoy the biggest pine tree (the one on the right side of the trail.) The bird (like the pin-tailed whydahs) was not afraid of me at all once I was laying down on the ground. The did flush when somebody would walk by, but when I was laying down, they had no fear of me. Often times they came too close to focused on, once almost to the point where I could touch them. Small Spizella with pale lores, gray rump, gray neck, white throat, gray breast, and very buffy streaked back and wingbars. overall. Had a little white on the outer tail feathers. Pink bill and legs. Lifer! Photos TBA.
