A great surprise while scanning the flock of white wagtails was a mid-winter Yellow wagtail, first seen by C. Sejas. M. f. flava could be excluded by plumage: dark head, slim supercilium, white throat. Dark band on breast. News about the bird were spread, since the totally out of-place occurrence and plumage this bird hold many hopes for Germany's first Eastern Yellow Wagtail, M. tschutschensis. Recorders were placed in the area for several days, the analysis of its calls resulted in an abnormal coloured M. flava thunbergi. As far as I am aware the first winter-record of this ssp. for Germany. It was present 07.01-26.01.2022.
