Not visible all morning until they came flying out of the back of the marsh at 10:15 a.m. landing at the front of the "island" near the creek mouth in the group of great egrets. After three minutes they flew back into the back of the marsh and were next seen when they appeared in the channel between the left spit and left lake shore at 10:37 a.m. Even then they were often obscured by the high ridge line on the spit.
