In the pasture behind the abandoned? house on the right side of the road at the GPS point. Two birds shot upslope right as the Mountain Grackles were flying through to distract us. Eventually we walked uphill and found two parrots feeding on the ground in the grass and another 8 or so in several of the trees nearby. Fantastic views of them allopreening, feeding and just chilling. Later we heard and spotted a flock flying distantly on the well-forested opposite side of the valley. A minute later, the flock flew directly towards us and passed overhead just above the meadow and continued onwards and out of sight. Amazing experience to see the flurry of colors with the sounds of the whole flock shooting over at jet-fighter speed.
